Zion National Park - Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway

Before arriving at the East Entrance of Zion National Park, I entered through the Red Canyon and stopped for a photo with Smoky the Bear. I then traveled along the Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway which is carved through a canyon of towering cliffs and includes a mile-long rock tunnel built in the 1920s with no lights and only reflectors marking the way. I had my photo taken at the East Entrance sign (a tradition when entering a National Park for the first time) and then took some nice photos along the way. It was precursor for what was to come inside Zion.
