Rocky Mountain National Park, Day Two, Part 2

Because my park reservations were from 11 am to 2 pm, I took a break after the Lily Lake hiking fiasco. Then I headed back to Rocky Mountain National Park for my second day in the park and the 48-mile drive on Trail Ridge Road from Fall River Entrance Station to Grand Lake.

Along the way, I made a few stops, took some photos, crossed the continental divide, encountered a large elk, and visited the Holzwarth Historic Site, which is an old Dude Ranch located in the park. And no, I didn't almost hit the elk. I stopped my car and the elk sauntered across the road right in front of my car, and then promptly turned back from where he came.

As I approached the end of Trail Ridge Road, I could clearly see large burned out sections of fire from the East Troublesome fire.
