Goosenecks State Park
The lady at the Grand Staircase visitor center recommended that I visit Goosenecks State Park instead of Horseshoe Bend, so I took her advice and headed there after driving through Monument Valley. The park overlooks the San Juan River which is 1,100 feet below the overlook. The views were incredible and I can see why the lady recommended Goosenecks over Horseshoe. It also provided a bathroom break and a place to have lunch as well. I also met a nice couple from Minnesota who were also on a road trip visiting the National Parks, and she took my photo looking down at the goosenecks. All I can say is that the $5 entrance fee was money well spent.
